Here is the complete Ferro MC set: seven irons, from 4-iron through pitching wedge. These clubs are being tested in our fitting studio and outdoors, with input from our PGA professionals and our head builder. The photographs give you a closer look at the set; the testing helps us understand it with a golfer behind the ball.
A closer look at the complete set
The MC is Ferro’s Muscle Cavity iron, forged from S20C carbon steel with a compact profile focused on control and direct feedback. Seen together, the full 4–PW set shows the shape and black finish carried from the long irons through the pitching wedge.
A finished set is more than a collection of heads. The shaft, grip and final build specifications all contribute to how each club feels in the golfer’s hands. That is why our testing includes assembled clubs.
Tested in our fitting studio
Our fitting studio gives us a controlled setting to test the MC and explore how a build works for the player. It is a place to look closely at contact, ball flight and feel, and to discuss the shaft and specifications with the golfer.
The questions are practical: does the club feel comfortable through the swing? Is the feedback clear? Does the build help the player repeat the shot they are trying to hit? A fitting should answer those questions for the individual.
Taken outside, too
Our testing also moves outdoors. Our PGA staff and head builder have been putting Ferro irons through additional sessions at a local golf range near our shop.
Outdoor sessions add the experience of watching the ball fly toward a real target. Alongside studio work, they give our team another setting in which to evaluate the clubs and discuss what they are feeling and seeing.
PGA professionals and a builder’s perspective
Our PGA professionals bring a player’s perspective to the testing. Our head builder brings the perspective of the person assembling the clubs and working with their specifications. Those viewpoints help connect feedback from a hitting session with the details of the build.
The work continues beyond the photographs. We are testing, listening and learning as the MC sets go into play. We will share specific findings as they become available.
